As I locked up my clinic last night, I got a surprise. Across the road is a famous (national brand) pizza take-away. Its often open when I head home; but what surprised me tonight was the number of customers. People were queued out to the street waiting to order their dinner. It made me wonder how often people eat takeaway as their evening meal.
However, when I made the meatballs, I was surprised when it came to just how much flavor they had. I didn't think they were seasoned but they had a light blend of spices on them. The slow cooker meatball barley soup were also very tender; the one thing my wife mentioned she loved about them. If I wouldn't have used them in the spaghetti, I think I would have eaten these by themselves as a snack.

Have fun with flavors and spices and don't be afraid to put more seasonings into your cooking. Many cooks lightly season their food, leaving it tasting bland. It is okay to experiment with different amounts of salt and meatballs stew spices until you find a delicious tasting blend. Many chefs recommend adding almost twice as much as you would initially considering using, so keep it interesting and flavorful by putting in just a little bit more.
Offer a variety of homemade choices so family members don't get bored. Don't insist on peanut butter and jelly for every lunch. Offer salads, cold pizza, leftovers, hummus and veggies, cold pasta salads, etc. For breakfast, you can make muffins, pancakes, French toast, oatmeal, eggs and toast, etc.
When you create a labour intensive dish for dinner like tuna mornay or lasagne, make double. Serve half, and freeze the other half to reheat on a busy night.
